SOUTHSIDE CLAY TRAIL
8TH & 9th November 2025
10AM TO 4PM
Welcome to the Southside Clay Trail, celebrating ceramic artists, south of the Yarra River!
We have a vibrant ceramics community south of the river! Make a day of it and take a tour of our studios, as part of The Australian Ceramics Association (TACA) nationwide Open Studios weekend. You will experience a wide range of work, meet makers in their studios and see some demos of work in progress.
Most studios are open on Saturday and some are open on Sunday as well. Look at the map to find out which days they are open.
Make a Day of It
Why not make a day of it and come on down to take a tour of our studios. You’ll experience a wide range of work, from pots that could hold a small pet to plates and vessels that are works of art.
Meet the Makers
As you wander through our studios, you’ll meet the talented makers who are as passionate about ceramics as they are about avoiding admin work.
See Some Demos
Watch in awe as they demonstrate their skills - there’s nothing quite like seeing someone throw clay around like its going out of style. The demos might just inspire you to pick up that dusty pottery wheel you bought during your "I can be an artist" phase.
Spoiler alert: it’s harder than it looks, and your kitchen will never be the same again!
Buy a Unique Gift
Whether you need a new vase for that plant you keep forgetting to water or a bowl that’s just the right size for all the snacks you definitely won’t share, we’ve got you covered. There is such a variety of styles in this group that you will be sure to find a piece that speaks to you or your intended special person. So come on down, bring your friends, and see the ceramic joys and talents that are on offer.
